The lost skylark
Playing with words, sharing a unique tune...
Latest work - The White Cello

Jenna's latest poetry and music composition will be part of the
next Hatch exhibition at a secret barn just outside Langport in Somerset.
The White Cello is a reminder that making time for yourself is the most important lesson of all.
Originally, the idea was going to explore the journey of learning the cello as an adult and compare that with the experience of learning a musical instrument as a child. Things haven’t quite gone to plan!
This piece has actually been on a journey of its own because Jenna should be much further along with learning to play by now. As it turns out, she is only at the beginning, letting other things take priority. She says:
"Thinking about this has been interesting, and this work has become more about reflecting on why we don’t make time for the things that will genuinely bring us joy. Why do we often relegate what really matters... the things we’ll remember in the days, months, and years to come? It’s about taking a moment to think about and reset our priorities in an all-too busy world, filled with distractions and pressures".

What longings have you lost?
When the skylark comes a calling
A thawing in the frost"
